Jeff Abbott Adrenaline Review

with 2 comments

I’d read some of Jeff Abbott’s work before reading Adrenaline (Panic, I think) but couldn’t remember what I thought so my decision to buy Adrenaline was based on the sticker that adorned the front cover saying ‘most gripping thriller of the year’. A bold claim indeed and I’ll have to wait till the end of the year to see if it’s true or not.

Either way, it’s most definitely a great read. The hero is thrust through a series of merciless challenges all of which are fast paced, action packed and intriguing. I really enjoyed this book, it’s a genuine page turner which kept me up late on a couple of nights. There’s a small twist at the end which left the faintest of after tastes but even with that in mind, if you like action adventure novels you wont be disappointed.

Swan Hotel Bibury

without comments

This is a copy of a letter sent guaranteed delivery to the Swan Hotel in Bibury on or around 11th July 2005 after a very disappointing stay. The letter was never replied to.

I would like to offer feedback on my stay at the Swan Hotel Bibury this weekend. Although, it was very pleasant there were some aspects which made what should have been an excellent weekend an average to good one.

The hotel is presented as offering outstanding hospitality, delicious cuisine and a romantic setting. My experience has left me questioning the first two of those claims and I suggest there is some room for improvement.

Despite my disappointment, it’s fair to say the staff were overall helpful and pleasant. I cannot say that any lack of satisfaction was directly because of them.

Chris Ryan Who Dares Wins Review

without comments

Just finished reading Chris Ryan’s ‘Who Dares Wins’. I’m a sucker for action books and generally like the one’s written by Brit ex-special forces.

Who Dares Wins isn’t a bad read. It’s not Ryan’s best work but it keeps moving and keeps you entertained. I thought it slowed down a bit about 3/4 of the way through and the plot took a turn that I found a bit weak and left me less enthused about the story than I had been.

Still , like I say, not a bad read. I’d lend it to a friend with the caveat they shouldn’t expect anything special.

6.5/10 – Would be happy reading it on a sun lounger somewhere!
